We are so excited to share this wedding with you all! Soumya and Aditya came to us via their amazing and hardworking planner, Lindsay Landman, who put together a truly spectacular event for the couple’s wedding weekend. Two days of shooting included a Mehndi at Taj Lounge in the Flatiron District and their Sangeet, Ceremony and Reception at Guastavinos under the Queensboro Bridge. The weekend yielded some pretty amazing moments captured and every detail was carefully crafted by Lindsay with Soumya’s inspirations.
Aditya first saw Soumya at Madison Square Park for a sweet first look before taking some photos with just each other then the entire family. They all headed to the Taj Lounge to celebrate with henna artists, a dance troupe, great food and drinks. Soumya and her cousins surprised everyone with a choreographed dance, inviting everyone on the floor after.
The next day started with the preparation for the Sangeet and ceremony. Aditya had some nice moments with his family with blessings before heading to the venue for the ceremony. Soumya’s parents were waiting to put jasmine garlands on him and his family before coming inside. Everyone gathered around to see Soumya walk down the aisle to the Mandap where Aditya was waiting. Following many traditions, the ceremony was lovely and detailed with rituals including the tying of the Mangalsutra where the Aditya’s family tied a necklace on Soumya, Soumya’s brother poured puffed rice into her hands and into the fire which the couple walked around a few times and the couple touching their parents’ feet to get blessings among many others. After they were married, Soumya & Aditya greeted their guests and joined them for a quick lunch before heading outside for some couple portraits.
Later in the evening, everyone gathered again for the reception. Both fathers gave speeches and lots of dancing and celebrating followed on into the night. Music was provided by DJ Milan Shah, catering by Chand Palace, andevent coordination/planning by Lindsay Landman Events.
